  • Prevent Child Abuse Iowa seeks a motivated, collaborative, and passionate professional Executive Assistant to assist the organization. This position is responsible for providing administrative support and program stability to the Executive Director and staff.

    PCA Iowa is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization leading child abuse prevention awareness, assistance, and advocacy efforts in Iowa. We support a broad range of community-based child abuse prevention organizations that rely on evidence based and evidence informed approaches to strengthen families and Iowa communities. Based in Des Moines, PCA Iowa is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and currently employs a staff of eight full-time positions. PCA Iowa is a proud member of the Synergy Center, a non-profit incubator supporting collaboration and leveraged growth among health-focused non-profits. .

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Executive Assistant will work with the PCA Iowa director and team members to provide assistance in a fast-paced non-profit environment. The Executive Assistant must be extremely detail oriented and collaborative and demonstrate professional conduct with a wide variety of stakeholders.

    Job Title: Executive Assistant

    SKILLS NEEDED:

    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize task and manage time to meet multiple deadlines
    • Flexible to the needs of a fast-paced office
    • Ability to work independently and execute details of a project or event

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Interact with employees, clients, and agents in and effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries
    • Provide elevated administrative support to all lines of business; to include, document preparation, presentations, calendar management, travel management, and meeting coordination of the Executive Director
    • Active participant in team meetings and activities
    • Knowledgeable on general office policies and procedures
    • Answering phone calls, taking messages, filing, photocopying, faxing, and data entry
    • Schedule meetings and related details (ie: location, food, materials)
    • Prepare agency folders, files, and curriculum

    DETAILS:

    Compensation: $14-$17 per hour depending on experience

    Duration: Position is part-time, 20 hours per week.
