Training
PCA Iowa is dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of anyone who wants to help prevent child abuse in the state. Our group training events, regional training events and annual conference provide opportunities for advocates of all backgrounds to help promote the work of preventing child abuse.
PCA OFFERS THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF TRAINING
Group Training Sessions
We offer group training sessions covering a variety of child abuse prevention topics. These sessions are best for organizations or groups of 15 or more and can be scheduled throughout the year.
Regional Meetings
These meetings focus on strategies to improve work with families and increase commitment for building safe, nurturing environments for kids. Participation is strongly encouraged for Iowa Child Abuse Prevention Program (ICAPP) and Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP) grantees.
State Prevention Conference
The annual Child Abuse Prevention and Family Support Conference is a two-day event held each spring in Des Moines. The conference increases knowledge, skills and collaboration for professionals working to improve the well-being of Iowa families.
